Her expertise in the mechanisms of biofilm formation and antibiotic tolerance directly supports the unit&rsquo;s research themes. Her PhD in Microbiology (Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9, Institut Pasteur) investigated antibiotic tolerance and biofilm development in the gut symbiont <em>Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron<\/em>.<br>This work complements her previous research during her Master\u2019s degree (Sorbonne Universit\u00e9 &amp; Institut Pasteur), conducted at Jikei University in Tokyo, Japan, which specifically explored the role of key enzymes in <em>Staphylococcus aureus<\/em> biofilm formation.
